Very excited about Photostack. Unfortunately I'm having the same trouble that Andrew is having. Can't create new galleries or upload images. I am using Bluehost.

Great idea for a useful piece of software. Unfortunately, I too am having difficulties with the permissions. I am unable to create new galleries or upload images. I am hosted on Dreamhost.

I am having the same exact problems as David Laws, except for the mod_rewrite one. I had my host turn off safe_mode for my account. I realize this is probably a permissions issue, but my galleries and cache folders are set to be 777. does the uid/gid matter for the folder? any ideas?

Sounds like permissions problems in all the instances above. None of my beta testers have had problems with this on this revision, which makes me confused as to why it is happening at all.

Anyone not able to upload, try this:

- delete the galleries folder, create a new one, and chmod it to 777 (set permissions to world writable/readable)

@ Brant - yes, same problems here - both localhost (Win XAMPP) + remote server.

If I try to create new sub-gallery I get "An error occurred: Could not save gallery info" but the gallery is created.

If I try to upload a single image I get "An error occurred: Could not add image to gallery". The image is not uploaded.

If I try to upload a zip file of images I get "An error occurred: Some archive contents could not be added", although most images have loaded OK - just one or two appear missing in Organize. They are also distorted in Organize. However, they all appear OK in the frontend gallery.

With mod_rewrite on I get 404s when trying to view sub-gallery.

Noel, if you want FTP access to bug hunt / test any of this on my server, please email me.

It seems to be something wrong with a JS transition between images. Tried it with Safari and Firefox on the Mac and Firefox on the PC.

Full image loaads for a second, than appears the 'loading' screen and finally nice fade-in of the image.

Since this is not really a nice behaviour, is is possible to totally disable the JS transition or somehow fix it?

THANKS AGAIN FOR A GREAT WORK!!!
